Handmade Parade CIC is recruiting 4 paid interns and 4 unpaid trainees to become part of our busy, creative parade making team this year.
Handmade Parade CIC creates bold, colourful events through a unique coming-together of professional parade artists and community participation. Since the first annual parade in Hebden Bridge in 2008, we’ve generated a riot of stunning procession and pageant art. Please visit http://handmadeparade.co.uk/

A: Paid Internships
This long-term work/training opportunity will span both of our signature events – Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade on 25th June and Todmorden Lamplighter Festival on 25th November, and will culminate in our 10th anniversary symposium, Parading the North in early December. In addition to this work (at least 50 days) assisting, preparing for and leading public workshops, you will receive free training in our core technique of big puppet building – sculpting with withies, sculpting with clay and papier mache, creating structures and lantern making.
We are offering a fee of £3000 (including travel and expenses) for this period.
Please note that whilst there is some flexibility in this part-time position, there are core dates and periods of full-time work connected with the main events and associated workshops which are not negotiable – please ensure you are available before applying.
We are offering 4 free positions on our training programmes this year (around 15 days training in total) for people who are interested in volunteering and committed to being a big part of all of our events this year.
